I made this playlist for last weekend’s girls trip to Vegas. Now that I’m back home with a bad case of post-vaca blues, I find myself playing these songs on repeat, daydreaming of our pool party days and club-hopping nights. A mix of country and hip hop, they’re all perfect “windows down, care-free cruising” jams. Especially now that (fingers crossed) the warmer weather is here to stay!
Needless to say, the 9 of us (4 girlfriends from high school and 4 from college) had an absolute BLAST and we’re already planning next year’s destination…
One great thing about spending the next week in Cali – I won’t have to worry about covering every inch of skin every time I get dressed for fear of getting frostbite. #polarvortexproblems The idea of being comfortable outdoors seems like a distant memory. The forecast for the different cities we’re visiting varies, but overall it’s looking like 60’s during the day and 40’s at night. I’m bringing light layers and comfortable (but still cute) outfits since we’ll be traveling a lot. Still looking for ways to justify bringing 7 pairs of shoes for 7 days…
Last weekend, in addition to ringing in the big 2-5 with some of my besties and a few too many vodka sodas, I also went on a bit of a shopping spree. Everything was 40% off at Express. And it was my birthday. And I’m going on vacation. And did I mention 40% off, including items already on clearance? Nice jeans for $20? C’mon now. The pieces below will work perfectly for sightseeing, eating and drinking our way up the coast!
A week from today, I’m leaving the #polarvortex behind and flying to California for some fun in the sun (I miss you Vitamin D, it’s been too long)! I’m meeting one of my besties in San Diego (she’s currently in Park City running the show at Sundance, NBD) and we’re roadtripping up the Pacific Coast Highway for 4 days. We’re spending a night in LA, Santa Barbara and Carmel, stopping at sights, beaches, and most definitely vineyards along the way. Any must-see suggestions are welcome!
Then I get to spend the rest of the week in San Francisco, visiting with family and another bestie. I’m even managing to squeeze in my second half marathon (those SF hills might kill me) before my red-eye home. I’m obviously looking forward to this bucket list road trip, but more than the gorgeous views and nice weather, I’m excited to spend some QT with people I love that I don’t see nearly enough as I’d like to!
This road trip seems fitting considering I turn 25 on Sunday and am finally legal to rent a car! On another note, 25 – eesh. Let the celebrations quarter life crisis begin!
Thanksgiving this year was unlike any other Turkey Day for me. I woke up in Dublin, had a proper Irish breakfast, then set off on a mini Ireland road trip with the fam. Or tried to at least, before discovering … Continue reading →
Last week, my parents and I went to visit my brother who’s studying abroad in Dublin. We landed in Dublin at 5 a.m. their time with little to no sleep on the plane. We passed through Customs, got our luggage … Continue reading →
2-day hangovers, apparently a real thing when you hit your mid-twenties. I went to NYC this past weekend to celebrate my high school friend’s birthday and we partied like we were celebrating his 19th birthday, not his 26th. A group … Continue reading →
Is there anything worse than the Monday after a vacation? Sitting in your office with a record number of e-mails in your inbox, trying to get back into swing of things but unable to escape the “this time last week … Continue reading →
